ImagineIT: Spring Update 1
Hard to imagine that we are already in the Spring semester. I also cannot believe that the school year is halfway done. We have been hard at work, uncovering our curriculum and learning about our world. We are poised to embark on the next part of our ImagineIT; looking at our Universe as a giant system. To prepare our understanding for this concept, we are going to recreate an activity from this summer's improv workshop. Students will create machines in small groups, reflecting on how parts make up a whole.
After this activity, we will continue learning about the Universe, preparing for the next inclusion in our photo-journal. We will also begin discussing our final Systems project, a short documentary about the appearance of patterns in our world.
My students are doing a great job looking for patterns in everything that we've been talking about. I'm also enjoying bringing in as many alternative methods of teaching about the Universe (like the most recent video about recording gravitational waves!).
