Dilemmas
Problematizing the ImagineIT
The first dilemma that I am facing during my implementation of the ImagineIT project falls under the umbrella of assessment. As I plan this year long unit, I am trying to decide on the most fair and equitable way of assessing my students' skills. My ImagineIT project is also very broad and abstract. I need to come up with some creative ways of assessing my students as we go along. I also need to figure out a great culminating activity, which can serve as a summative assessment.
My second dilemma can be filed under curriculum. My ImagineIT project, dealing with systems and patterns, does fit into our curriculum. However, I worry that over the course of the year, my students will become tired of coming back to this idea. I worry that over time I could become tired of it as well. I need to make sure that I am just as excited about connecting our curriculum to the ImagineIT project at the end of the year as at the beginning. I also hope that my students can maintain the excitement of the project over the course of the year as well.
